Converting Volunteers to Donors


Deborah Ryan is a campaign director with Coxe Curry & Associates. She has more than 20 years of experience working with Atlanta’s nonprofits and foundations providing management and administrative leadership as well as expertise in event, corporate and individual fundraising programs, grant writing and strategic planning.Prior to joining Coxe Curry, Deborah served as Interim CEO and Vice President of Development and Communications at the Atlanta Women’s Foundation, where she created and executed comprehensive fundraising strategies that grew annual giving and supported the exponential growth of the annual Numbers Too Big To Ignore Fundraising Luncheon.At Coxe Curry, Deborah’s clients have included Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs, Atlanta Girls’ School, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Jewish Family & Career Services, Latin American Association, LifeLine Animal Project, Navicent Health, Piedmont Park Conservancy, Special Olympics Georgia, Teach for America and the Woodruff Arts Center.Over her 20-year career, Deborah has provided fundraising leadership to several Atlanta nonprofits and institutions, including The Atlanta History Center, Georgia Conservancy, AID Atlanta, Atlanta Contemporary Art Center and Oglethorpe University. She also serves as an advisory committee member for Junior League of Atlanta and the Foundation Center Atlanta and is a member of Leadership Darlington 2015. Deborah is the treasurer for the Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).Deborah received the Atlanta Business Chronicle Up and Comers Award for “40 under 40” in 2006 and was a 2011 Southeastern Council of Foundation’s Hull Fellow, the nation’s leading professional development program for philanthropy’s up-and-coming leaders.A native of Rome, Georgia, Deborah graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. in History.
